Volunteers at the Elephant Conservation Centre in Laos go to visit the baby elephant noi Ann and her mother Mae khamdii who are a part of the baby bonus program. They don't belong to the centre but can stay here until the baby is two years old, and old enough to be separated from her mother. The aim of the baby bonus program is to encourage mahouts to breed their elephants. When they partake in this program they earn a good salary from the E.C.C. and the elephant population increases. At the two year mark mahouts can choose to stay at the E.C.C. or go back to work with their elephant.
